Hello, you mischievous minxes! How are my Kandarchists doing? Have you had something good happen to you this week? Something shitty that you didn’t tell anyone happened, but you will stew upon for a few weeks anyway? Or are you literally just vibin’ in this summer heat? Either way, I’m happy to have you here. Pull up a seat, let’s unwind for a minute.
I am not going to have much to say this week, unfortunately! I’ve been going hard all week try to wrap up “Pathogen”, as well as preparing for our Art Walk Committee’s sculpture garden event that is this next Saturday. I’ve been trying to do fun things with my kids in between all of that and they are going absolutely stir crazy and making us all insane! After next week is over, we’ll have a weeklong camping trip and a lot freer time to play around. I also received (yet another) exhibition rejection letter for poor “Butterfly-Finned Sharky”… This guy is not getting the love he deserves, that is for sure. I DID entitle my newest painting series, “Retrospective Infringement”. It’s an extremely fancy title because I’m applying extremely fancy, painted detail into pieces that I have already previously drawn. I’m revisiting my old artwork through a new lens and implementing newer techniques and skills I’ve learned with acrylic paint for more “gallery” functionality. Is it working? Well… Slowly, but yes. I also thought it would be a really neat exhibition (maybe one day… far away from now…i can dream) to have “Retrospective Infringement” as a solo show and have both, the newer, more high-end & detailed paintings, hanging beside their older drawings that became their “concepts”. So far for this series, I have done “Butterfly-Finned Sharky” and am working on “Pathogen” now… my next piece for the series will be “Felt Cute… Might Usher Souls Through The Underworld Later… IDK.” Does anyone remember this piece?! I’m SOOOOOO excited to paint this. I’m thinking BIG! (˶ˆᗜˆ˵)
